The LeyFinder.exe Software Application is a Ley Line/Lines Finder/Hunter for the IBM PC Windows 98/2000/NT/ME/XP environment, and is available for free download.

Finds straight lines of ancient sites given their grid references, the minimum wanted in a line and the chosen 'accuracy' of the line. Plots the sites and found lines on a 'map' of the chosen area. Map can be saved to a file, both before and after plotting of lines.

NB This program is designed solely for use with grid references on grid systems not extending over more than 600 miles (1,000 kilometres). It is not designed for use with latitude and longitude and does not employ any spherical trigonometry in its calculations.

Having Unzipped the compressed file, drag the LeyFinder.exe Application to a suitable directory, either on your hard disc, or a floppy disc.

You may create a Shortcut to the .exe by right-clicking over the .exe icon and choosing 'Create Shortcut' from the supplied menu. Drag the Shortcut to a new Folder, or the Desktop display.

Double click with the mouse over LeyFinder.exe Application icon or Shortcut, and a disclaimer window will appear, from which the main window can be obtained.

To create a new file, or append to an existing file, choose 'Create/Append/Delete' from the 'Co-ords File' menu. A panel appears, to which you may supply the given file name in the upper slot. Then click on 'Start/Del', enter a series of grid references, clicking on 'Next' each time, then close the file by clicking on 'Close'.

To input a pre-created file, choose 'Open Co-ords File' from the 'Co-ords File' menu. An 'Open' file browser appears to choose the file, or type in the name of the existing file. Click on 'Open' on this panel. A message appears if the file has been successfully read.

Now choose 'SetUp' from the title bar menu, and supply the run-time parameters described below. Click 'Set' and a 'map' appears in a window with the sites plotted as points on it. Finally choose 'Find Leys' from the title bar menu, and the 'map' is processed and any ley lines found eventually plotted on it.

Finally choose 'New' from the 'Co-ords File' menu to start again with a new file, or 'SetUp' to use the old file with new parameters.

For Help, choose 'Help' from the title bar menu, or read the included text file 'ReadMe1st.txt'. For a Description, choose 'Description' from the title bar menu.
