The !ValJive Application is a Text File Translator/Speaker, suitable for the Visually Impaired, and for the RISC OS Wimp environment.

After having downloaded and unzipped the !ValJive Application, drag the application to a suitable directory on your hard disc. Double click on the !ValJive file icon load the icon onto the icon bar.

Left-clicking on the bar icon causes the main 'SetUp' panel to be displayed.

Present a Text file name to the writable slot on the 'SetUp' panel, by double-clicking on the file icon, dragging the file to the panel or bar icon, or manually typing the name into the slot.

Choose Options for the Translation and/or the Speaking of the File from the 'SetUp' panel, then click 'Run' on that panel.

The File is then Translated and the result offered for saving with the same leaf name as the original, but prefixed by 'VJ'.

At the same time, and if the option was chosen, the file text is spoken, in the chosen accent, volume, speed and pitch.

Note that the Text will continue to be spoken, even if you quit the application, in the mean time.

Read the 'ReadMe1st' file present in the zipped file for more information on the functions that all the buttons on the 'SetUp' panel perform.

Additional Help is obtainable from the bar icon menu (Click 'MENU' over it), or by using !Help, present in your 'Apps' directory.
